Hebel-Gymnasium Schwetzingen, school chess team

Latest dated trace

A team of the school played in 2 dated team events of the Baden-Württemberg school chess championships since February 2025, each on its own day: 10 February 2026 (the North Baden school chess championship, WK I, team printed «Hebel-Gymnasium Schwetzingen»); 23 January 2026 (the Mannheim school chess team championship, which takes in schools of Schwetzingen, Hockenheim and Reilingen, group WK 1, teams printed «Hebel_1» and «Hebel_2»; the other Hebel school of the district in the directory, the Johann-Peter-Hebel-Grundschule Mannheim, is a primary school and cannot play in WK 1). Each is a team tournament per age group (WK) in which the school stands as one side and is ranked as a team. The Mannheim school chess team championship 2025/26 of the Baden chess federation (Kreis Mannheim, hosted by the Carl-Benz-Schule Mannheim) was played on Thursday 22 January 2026 for the primary-school groups and on Friday 23 January 2026 for the main groups, as its invitation prints; its nine table sheets (headed «SchulschachMM MA 2026» with the group) print the teams under short labels. The 2026 North Baden championship was played at the Eichendorff-Gymnasium in Ettlingen on 9 and 10 February 2026: the organiser’s calendar prints «9. Februar» for WK M, V and the primary groups and «10. Februar» for WK I to IV and RHGMS, and its report of 15 February 2026 says the championship was played on the Monday and the Tuesday. The Baden-Württemberg school directory (Kultusministerium, Dienststellensuche) lists the school at Goethestr. 23, 68723 Schwetzingen. The results pages are the only chess trace; no page of the school about chess was opened, so the entry stays unconfirmed. The card records the school’s team, not a session open to visitors.
