Chess in Heidelberg 3

Heidelberg has two clubs and a large autumn open. The Schachfreunde Heidelberg play in Eisenlohrstraße and report on their league teams and on youth results in the regional youth grand prix. The SC 1949 Rohrbach-Boxberg in Rohrbach trains its youth on Fridays from a quarter past five outside the school holidays, also holds a Friday club evening, and began the 2026/27 season with three teams in October.

The Heidelberger Schachherbst is played at Forum 1 in Emmertsgrund. A Heidelberg club’s tournament list gives 29 October to 1 November 2026 as the dates of the seventh edition, a seven-round open in two groups with a limit on the number of players, and the German Chess Federation’s tournament database carries it too. Anyone with a registration can enter, so it sits on this page beside the clubs.
