These four tournaments are played at a quick pace, and each tournament or match day is over within a day. The Kurpfalz-Cup is a series of five rapid match days between May and September, held in turn by clubs such as Brühl and Hockenheim, with an overall winner at the end of the season. The Erhard-Stephan memorial tournament of the Altlußheim club is played on a July Sunday in the town’s bird park and was fully booked in 2025.

The Ketscher Jugendopen in the Rheinhalle is for young players only; its 2025 edition drew more than one hundred and sixty of them. The Bensheimer Active-Chess-Open, in the Bürgerhaus Kronepark in Auerbach in early September, plays eleven rounds of ten minutes plus five seconds a move, and its organisers list a winner for every year except 2020 to 2022.
